Gift of giving to Glen Osmond Farm

A service offered by Very Special Kids is providing families with relaxing breaks at a peaceful farm just outside the township of Woodend.

Located just over an hour north-west of Melbourne, Very Special Kids Glen Osmond Farm features two purpose-built holiday cottages that can sleep up to eight people in three bedrooms. There is also a big wooden barn on the property for entertainment and amazing views across to Mount Macedon and for as far as the eye can see. And best of all, there is no charge for families to use the cottages.

Janet and Bernard Hawkins initiated the project donating 26 hectares of their land.

“We have been lucky enough to live in a tranquil area and we are thrilled that this is now available to Very Special Kids families,” Janet said.

Very Special Kids

Very Special Kids cares for children with life-threatening conditions by providing Victoria’s only children’s hospice and professional support services to families.

We help more than 900 families across Victoria who have a child with a life-threatening condition with ongoing support from diagnosis all the way through to bereavement.

Sadly, almost all of the children we care for will not reach adulthood.

We provide free of charge care for these children and families, but we can't do it on our own. It costs more than $8 million each year to operate Very Special Kids and we rely substantially on the generous support of the community, so please give generously and together we can make a difference.
